Pre-Conference Workshop | Longitudinal and Retrospective Statistical Analyses of Epidemiological Data

📅 Wednesday, June 3, 2026 | 9:30 AM | Saint-Quay Portrieux Congress Centre 🆓 Free — Registration required | Limited to 15 participants

The environment is a major determinant of population health, and endemic diseases — whether of environmental, animal, or human origin — pose persistent threats to ecosystems and human well-being. This half-day workshop offers a practical introduction to two complementary analytical approaches: longitudinal cohort analysis and retrospective seroepidemiological methods.

Participants will alternate between theoretical sessions and hands-on exercises based on real-world datasets, using R for data analysis.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and apply the fundamental principles of longitudinal analysis of epidemiological data
  • Use sero-catalytic models to analyze seroprevalence data
  • Identify and estimate key epidemiological parameters (confounding factors, transmission rates, incidence rates, infection forces, etc.)

Audience Up to 15 young researchers (doctoral and postdoctoral students) working in disease modelling and registered to OneH2026. A good knowledge of R is required. The list of R packages will be sent a few days in advance.

The Training Team

Distinguished Guest Speaker | Dr Baba Soumaré, WOAH

We are honoured to welcome Dr Baba Soumaré as Distinguished Guest Speaker at OneH2026 – The One Health Challenges to Tackle Infectious Diseases, taking place in Saint-Quay Portrieux, France, from June 3 to 5, 2026.

A leading voice for One Health

As Deputy Director General for Global Frameworks and Capacity Building at WOAH (World Organisation for Animal Health), Dr Soumaré provides strategic oversight on One Health, scientific networking, emergency preparedness, biological threats reduction and the strengthening of Veterinary Services worldwide.

A career built on the ground

A Veterinary Epidemiologist holding a PhD in animal health economics, Dr Soumaré has dedicated his career to building resilient health systems at the human-animal-environment interface. He previously headed FAO’s Emergency Centers for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD), transforming national and regional capacities to prevent, detect and mitigate health threats originating in animals.

As Africa Regional Director for Preparedness and Response under the Global Health Security Agenda, he piloted the operationalization of One Health across the continent — establishing functional National One Health Platforms and developing multisectoral preparedness plans against emerging pandemic threats.

At OneH2026

Dr Soumaré will deliver the opening distinguished guest address on Wednesday, June 3, setting the tone for three days of scientific exchange and collaboration.
